UPDATE: Seven displaced; one pet dead after blaze in Old Bridge

Two families were displaced after a fire burned through their home on Englishtown Road Sunday morning, a fire official said.

No occupants or firefighters were injured, but a pet dog died the blaze, said Bob Verney, chief of the South Old Volunteer Bridge Fire Company.

The cause of the blaze remained under investigation late yesterday afternoon. Verney said it was too early to say whether it was suspicious in nature. ...
