The fire, reported by a neighbor, apparently started while the home owner was working on a car parked in the garage. The fire caused extensive damage, but was contained to the garage and exterior front of the building. The resident in the garage sustained severe injuries, while a second resident escaped unharmed.

1/5/2009 – 27 Emily Drive
At approximately 6:00pm a report of a structure fire in a single family dwelling was received via 911 dispatch. Upon arrival the first units found a heavy volume of fire showing on the outside of the building. Neighbors informed the firefighters that the only occupant of the building, a young girl, had escaped through a second floor window after discovering the fire.
9/24/2008—Rellim Drive Apartment Complex
A mutual aid request was received from the Cheesequake Volunteer Fire Company for a confirmed structure fire at the Madison Arms apartment complex. The fire, which was reported at 5:00am, had started on the lower level of the building and spread to the upper floors.The fire, which was completely extinguished over 3 hours later, resulted in 4 units being destroyed and 4 additional units being damaged.
7/5/2008 – 316 Texas Rd.
At approximately 11:00pm a 911 call was received for a structure fire at 316 Texas Rd. A neighbor reported hearing an explosion and then seeing the house on fire. The builing was fully engulfed in fire upon arrival of the first units. The family was not at home at the time of the incident and no one was injured in the fire. The fire is believed to have been started by propane tanks attached to the building.
4/25/2007 – 105 Old Matawan Rd.
A report of a structure fire was received at 2:45pm. Upon arrival the first due engines reported heavy fire on the second floor of the medical arts building, located at 105 Old Matawan Rd. The fire, started by a discarded cigarette on the outside of the building, was brought under control approximately 1 hour later. Damage to the building was extensive and resulted in a partial roof collapse of the structure. Approximately 70 firefighters, including neighboring departments, assisted in extinguishing the fire.
3/16/2006 – Fatal Plane Crash Old Bridge Airport
At approximately 10:30pm a call was received of a plane crash at the Old Bridge Airport. The plane had apparently hit a 50 ft high tree while attempting a landing. The crash resulted in two fatalities and an additional two severe injuries.
