SOUTH OLD BRIDGE

Beyond the Firehouse Doors

There’s more to your fire company than flashing lights and sirens. Learn about the leaders who guide us, visit the stations where our fleet stands ready, or make a donation that helps us answer the next call. Together, we protect what matters most.

Honoring Our History

The South Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1947, when a small group of local residents recognized the need for organized fire protection in their growing community. What began with a handful of neighbors, a single engine, and a lot of determination quickly grew into a vital public service dedicated to safeguarding lives and property.

Over the decades, our department expanded alongside Old Bridge Township. From our first firehouse on Appleby Avenue, we went on to establish additional stations to meet the needs of a rapidly developing community. Today, we proudly operate out of three stations, staffed entirely by volunteers who continue the proud tradition of service started more than 75 years ago.

Though times and technology have changed, our mission has remained the same: to stand ready, day and night, for the people of District #3. From fire suppression to rescue services, we are committed to protecting our neighbors with the same courage, dedication, and camaraderie that defined our founders back in 1947.

“Volunteers are not paid. Not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.”

At the South Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Company, our strength comes from the dedication of everyday people who choose to serve their neighbors. If you’ve ever thought about giving back, there’s no better way than joining our team.
